Safe Spaces and Libraries

Post by Admina on Tue Mar 15, 2016 2:58 pm

Cases have been made FOR "Safe Spaces" and AGAINST them as PC-culture run amok.  This movement so far has largely centered around colleges and universities, but is spilling over into public libraries: example Nashville Public Library policy vs Black Lives Matter organizers./  [I already created a thread yesterday in the Public Libraries channel regarding this policy conflict.]

Does this concept have a future in academic environments, including libraries?  Are there problems with it?  Are we just grappling with change?  Is it exclusive and controlling or inclusive and empowering?

I wonder where this movement is going and what the community's thoughts are...?
